Summer’s almost here in South Dakota. We can see the deer moving around. Yep, won’t be long now…

Again I found myself so in awe of the talent and passion coming from the students and adults who participated in this evening of highlighting the love of Jesus (and shining the spotlight on Him) to help make it possible for others to go and do more of the same. The Destiny Heart Project was an evening that was “dreamed up” by one of our own students — Sam Roth — and helped us raise over $1,300 to facilitate 13 of our students going to Creel, Mexico this summer. What an excellent evening!

This 15 minute clip is from our last morning together as students and leaders… listen to all the great things God was doing in lives this week…
It doesn’t end there… I’ve been getting several e-mails and comments with other incredible stories. God is so EPIC!
One of my favorite stories to tell from this week is from Wednesday night’s ministry time. A student came up to me while I was playing the keys and simply said, “Do you know Spanish?” I responded simply, “no,” and before I knew it she was walking back off the stage before I had the chance to ask the reason for her asking. Well, on the last day, as I was packing the trunk of my car, the same girl came up behind me and asked me again, “Are you sure you don’t know any Spanish?” Again, I told her “no” — that I had taken a couple of Spanish classes in high school, but that I hardly remembered any of it — at least, definitely not enough to speak it.
She then tells me that I was repeating the phrase “aquí ellos son” over and over and over again; it was during a ministry time that I was speaking in tongues and leading others in the baptism of the Holy Spirit. She said that translates to “Here they are… here they are… here they are…” During that time, she said that this overwhelmed her because she felt like it was the Holy Spirit essentially presenting us to God the Father for His purposes. When she was telling me this, I felt like falling over on my knees myself! Wow!

Hey all…
Check out the video below. The opening part of the video — which I neglected to label — features the smaller kids from what they call JAM Camp. I just love their passionate, fun worship times! So fun!
If you’re a first time visitor to the blog, be sure to check out the column on the right-hand side to sign up for e-mail updates from the blog (anytime new posts are published) and check out links to my other sites (Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, Twitter, the family web site, our student ministry site, etc.) — as you can tell, I love to connect online!
What an EPIC week, huh? Remember, I’d love to hear your stories from your personal camp-week experiences. Comment on the blog or e-mail them to me directly at shawn@elevationgeneration.org.
For the Facebookers out there, I just created an EPIC campers’ group. See you there!
