Connect With Me

// December 15th, 2008 // 1 Comment » // Family Life, Technology

I’ve made quite a few online connections this past year.  Too many to keep up with to be honest.  So how about we take all of these newfound relationships to the next level? If you came here through the Net and would like to connect with me outside of this blog, here’s a few different ways I’d suggest that you do that.

rss-48x48 #1) Subscribe to my RSS feed. It’s the best way to receive every post via your RSS reader, iGoogle homepage, or even by e-mail.

twitter-48x48 #2 Follow me on Twitter. If you fancy knowing what I’m doing in my day-to-day life, sign up to receive status updates in 140-character-or-less.

facebook-48x48 #3 Be my friend on Facebook. It’s where all the cool kids hang out (grin).  I’m on MySpace, but I never sign on anymore.  All my love is for Facebook.

contact-48x48 #4 Meet me in person. Don’t worry.  I won’t be waiting with roses or anything like that!  I’m a pretty laid back, normal guy that just likes making connections with people.  If you are ever in the Rapid City, SD region and want to visit over coffee, I’m totally up for it; just shoot me an e-mail.

home-48x48 #5 Flip through the pages of our family site. I take lots of video and pics of our family and share the best of these moments here.  If you’ve only met me, you’re missing out on the “fabulousness” that is the whole of the Shoup family!  I’m the father to four beautiful girls and husband to my best friend, Deanna.

#6 Stop by some of my other sites. I’m a self-admitted web-junkie and can be found all over the Net.  Visit our student ministry site at elevationgeneration.org to see what’s happening at our church.

wordpress-48x48 If you are involved in student ministry, you may be interested in one of the youth ministry network blogs I post at: GP4Y.com (Foursquare’s Great Plains district youth workers) and RapidCityYouth.com (South Dakota’s Black Hills regional youth worker network).  They are sister sites; both are similar and only differ in the local events/news content posted.

A BIG hat tip for this post! This post is a total rip-off from blogging/social media genius/guru Adam McLane.  Since we’re still new friends, I’m hoping he won’t be too much of a hater for the “little guy” ripping him off (smile).  In all honesty, though, if you’re looking for a new, original, creative, smart, honest, and raw blog to follow, Adam McLane’s where it’s at.  Good stuff!

Angel Dean's New Tour Bus

// October 2nd, 2008 // No Comments » // Current Events, Elevate Update, Music

My friend Lance, stage-name, Angel Dean called me up this past Saturday morning and wanted to let us see his newly acquired touring vehicle. We were on the way to Roughlock Falls in Spearfish with the family, so he came out to the Stagebarn exit to meet us on the way.

My goodness! This was a fabulously nice vehicle. He’s been talking about needing something like this for quite a while. His heart is to take his band and music ministry on the road and minister at little-to-no-charge at stops all across America. So cool!  Check out a mini-video tour of the inside of the bus…

What’s even more cool is the Angel Dean is the featured speaker at this year’s Red Ribbon event (a city-wide anti drug and alcohol abuse gathering) on Wednesday night, October 15th at the Elks Theatre downtown.  We’re going to move our rally service down there that week to be a part of the big night.  I hope you can be there!
