This week’s update introduces the new student message series and features a snippet from the powerful documentary, “Heart of Texas”…

Part of the title in this series is a play on words. Pastor Deanna and I (Shawn) really love Destiny and the teens at Elevate Student Ministries. We LOVE this place!
The real idea behind this series, though, is that God hasn’t designed us to experience life alone. We were created to have friends and relationships who help us pursue God’s purposes and plan for our lives. Friends who walk alongside us through good and bad times.
This series is designed to turn our attention toward the importance and benefits of healthy friendships. As we pursue and develop deep friendships, we are helping to create community and reflect God’s love to the world around us.
We are going to examine the rewards of having high-quality friendships, consider ways to encourage oir friends, and grasp the dangers of gossip. The end-goal is to help all of us make healthy friendships a high priority in our lives, just as it’s a high priority to God.
Here’s how we see it breaking down:
Week 1: Quality vs. Quantity (Proverbs 27:17)
Week 2: Encourage, Encourage, Encourage (1 Thessalonians 5:11)
Week 3: How to Ruin a Great Friendship (Proverbs 16:28)
