February 1st through the 14th, Elevate Student Ministries is going to join up with students from around the world to take the message of Jesus Christ to Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, Twitter, and any other social networking site that you are a part of!  Tim Schmoyer, a youth pastor in Minnesota is leading this endeavor through onlinemissionstrip.com, and we are so excited to join in the effort.

ACTION STEPS FOR THE TRIP

We will be uploading PDF transcripts of regular assignments / action steps for those participating in the trip.  Also included will be a scripture focus, instructions to keep the “trip” momentum going, and plenty of encouragement.  We’ll also be posting these directly to our Facebook and MySpace groups.

PRE-TRIP TRAINING

Starting on January 14th, we will be teaching a message series titled, “Everyone Matters” to double as encouragement and pre-trip training.  Find out more about the series here.

24-7 PRAYER COVER

The most critical element of any event is prayer, especially when asking the Holy Spirit to convict the hearts of unbelievers.  We encourage those participating in this trip to sign up for a time-slot where you’ll commit to praying for an hour for all the teenagers and youth leaders who are involved in this outreach, for all the teens who will be hearing about Christ, and for the Holy Spirit to be actively working in the lives of unbelievers.  Click here to sign up for a time slot.

PARENT / TEEN INTERNET (WEB 2.0) TRAINING

Not sure about social networking sites and the “Web 2.0″ craze? Want to know more about sites like Facebook and MySpace before the trip? Join Pastor Shawn on Sunday, January 25th @ 6:30 PM for an evening Internet workshop geared towards parents and teenagers (although anyone who is interested is welcome to attend).
