Nice! I wish we got this much snow in Seattle.

  2. josh says:

You haven't heard? Global warming is a fluke.

    • this guy says:

global warming doesnt just include the earth getting warmer in the summers but colder in the winters. the name only includes one part but refers to both.

      • dfgh says:

Haven't you heard, the word fluke doesn't mean untrue. It means a phenomenon. A strange coincidence. He's not saying it's untrue, just that it's not our fault.

      • JewFro297 says:

yeah but idk if you noticed, this summer was cooler than usual and this winter is warmer than usual. global warming was just something the government used so they could have a carbon tax and market green products. ever see the south park episode with al gore and manbear pig? it was making fun of how stupid global warming is. yes the polar ice caps are melting, but the water level wont change at all. ice is less dense than water, so thats why it floats. but when it melts, it takes up the same ammount of space, the water level does not rise. Try it yourself, put some ice in a cup, mark the water level, let it melt, and see that its exactly the same.

        • ghc says:

Actually globaly warming is a misnomer. Its not actually about WARMING it just means irradic weather patters which we are indeed having. As to if its a fluke or not…who knows im not going either way…

        • kinko says:

true if you do that it doesn't rise… but the ice that is above sea level is melting and that is what will cause the water levels to rise.

and honestly, if you get your information from southpark… i wouldn't believe everything you say. Southpark is made to entertain not inform, so they make fun of a lot of stuff.

and global warming isn't just that the temperature is going up… it's also that we are having erradic weather patterns like HURRICANES and Thunderstorms that actually will affect you, whether it be physically or politically/economically.

          try going to school

          • Tydiem says:

Fluke, cover up for the true offset of events who knows but this we do know! The last leadership gathering on global warming or "climate change" made clear of the erroneous ideas set out by Al Gore and others to make a profit by it. Notes were exchanged by the lead scientists of global warming saying it was a farce but they were told to keep it hush hush because of all the money involved in it. Carbon emisions that are man made are actually only 2% of all carbon in the atmosphere, the rest is natural. Now come on tell me history hasn't taught you anything?!? Ancient sea beds in the middle of continents, places that one flourished with green life all now deserts, and places that were once deserts are now tropical if not a forest at present, all do to climate change and not one bit of that was man made then and not one bit is now. The earth has cooling and heating stages all through history. the polar caps melt, and then they come back. Every scientist knows this or should know this if they paid attention in class they should. the hottest day recorded every was in 1706 in central America and now the hottest place on earth is from what i remember 15 degrees cooler.
Look this up people do some research and kids that are in college thinking they know better because they saw one or two documentaries on this and think they are more informed than anyone are out right retarded because they didn't research they saw what people wanted them to see. I can make a documentary right now on a yellow footed rablbit and make my city close down because of how compelling a few well guided words and a nicely placed sad song can go a long way.

        • joe says:

ACTUALLY ice takes up more space than water because it is less dense

  3. ScienceFTW says:

Global warming is hardly a fluke. Just because a few scientists fudged numbers does not discredit an entire branch of science. The vast vast vast vast vast majority of scientists (i.e. the ones not in the payroll of corporations that have a vested interest in denying real science) maintain that climate change is occurring and although it is a natural phenomenon, human beings are in part catalyzing it.

    • CaptainBaconMan says:

WRONG. The scientists who support global warming are just as biased. They get research grants to say global warming exists. Go look up climate gate.

      • kinko says:

research grant's don't pay very well unless you discover something incredible… and you are just biased against the scientists.

  4. Matt says:

Global warming isn't a fluke. It's a natural cycle. It has nothing to do with human emissions as the oceans produce more CO2 than humans could ever produce. Furthermore, there is no evidence linking warming trends to CO2 production in the first place, which is why the climategate stuff is sending everyone into an uproar. The scientists are basically admitting that, according to their "proven" data there is no way the earth should be cooling while CO2 output continues to increase but that is exactly what is happening. Except for a couple minor anomalies, the general trend since the end of WWII is a COOLING trend not a warming one. These scientists are boneheads. The earth warmed more in the 40 years before the war (when CO2 emissions were considerably lower) than it has in the years since. The earth has warmed in the past, it has cooled in the past, and it has always recovered because we live on a planet that naturally rebounds to equilibrium. "Chill" out like these snowmen and just enjoy the ride :) But stop pissing on Mother Nature's head.

    • Larry says:

Good Job Matt- Right on. The ones tooting the global warming horn are all on grants .

      • kinko says:

the one's tooting the global warming horn are all college graduates that wouldn't have gotten the grants if not for being educated. I don't know your level of education or what you do for a living, but unless you have a masters in environmental science i'd listen to the scientists. besides, what's so bad about giving out grants… it's not like they're getting paid that well with them anyway.

        • Luke says:

So you must have a masters degree to be educated eh? Anyone who hasn't spent hundreds of thousands of dollars in the ridiculous college scam machine couldn't possibly know what they are talking about!

  5. James says:

looks like chicago right about now! were buried in the white stuff!

  6. bib bob says:

    Nice post.

Human caused GW is a HUGE scam that is enriching thieves like Al Gore (ever seen his house? when was the last time he flew commercial?). It is funny to me that the "anti-establishment left" so quickly falls in line with people like Michael Moore and Al Gore who are making hundreds of millions of dollars spewing their lies.

Hypocrisy? Right in front of your eyes if you would only open them…

  7. It is part of a cycle (called a Milankovitch Cycle) that moves the Earth closer and further from the sun and recurs every 100,000 years, but it has also never warmed up this quickly in such a short amount of time, i.e. the 150 or so years since the industrial revolution began. Human activity can definitely be attributed to what is called global warming.

  8. JAB_au says:

I am impressed by your snowman army, pray they do not rise up and try to overthrow there master.

  9. I'm a little surprised at all the discussion over global warming over a silly picture! :)

  10. keargle says:

those are asian style snowmen reenacting a calvin & hobbes comic!

  11. Tess says:

I'd like to imagine that it was just one solitary individual who on a whim spent hours upon hours rolling up dozens of little snowmen, thoughtfully creating each one and imbuing them each with a different personality and emotion. Sounds like a magical day!

It would be nice to have a bit more info about this picture though.

  12. Margaret says:

I'd look out for the one with the missing eye. He looks like he's about to do something stupid. Or dangerous. Or both. I think he might be a snowflake or two short, if you know what I mean.

  13. CHILLY says:

    WHERE IS AL GORE ?

  14. GLLewis says:

Wrong, wrong, wrong. Global warming at this level is not natural. And the oceans may produce more co2 than humans, but we are destroying forests at such a rate on our planet that the co2 is not being absorbed. Why are so many scientists and regular people missing this fact? The co2 would not be a problem if there were enough forests to convert the co2. So the real answer is to stop destroying the rain forests all over the world, and cutting emissions. Just cutting emissions will not solve the problem
