I agree that this song is being &quot;re-done to death&quot;, but part of that is because it&#039;s such a great song. 
 
When you refer to John Mark McMillan&#039;s version, are you referring to a studio version?  All I&#039;ve heard/seen is the YouTube video of him sharing the story behind the song.  I&#039;m gonna have to track it done, anyhow.  You&#039;re not the first one that has mentioned his version as being the most authentic... which, I guess makes sense, as he&#039;s the author.  ;)

It&#039;s like his vocals on musicality of Kim Walker&#039;s version.  
 
When I do this song though I do it Crowder&#039;s version...the students love &quot;sloppy wet kiss&quot; and all.  
 
I LOVE this song but if one more artist redoes this song without actually redoing it then I&#039;m going to be sick. We reviewed this CD back on The Joint and it was ok for me but the other guys really dug it. I will say, the production quality of that video and the CD was really something!  </description>
